Fall Jackets Under $100

Fall is my favorite time of year, hands down. Mostly because of all the cinnamon-y, delicious, apple-y food. But following in a close second place, are jackets. I've always had this weird fetish with them, and am constantly on the look out for more. But you'd be surprised to find that my collection is actually really pathetic. I think I just have a hard time splurging on things when I know they're seasonal. Actually, I kind of just have a hard time splurging on things in general (except, of course, on Black Friday or Cyber Monday... but even then, they're on sale.)

School in Style No. 2: Varsity Player

True story, I'm in love with the whole "varsity" look that's coming in for fall. Sports-inspired looks were all over the runways and I gotta say, I am so happy about it. I basically live in my sneakers on a day-to-day basis (I nanny and work at a gym.. okay?!), so this trend might seriously be the best thing to happen to me this season.

One of the biggest criteria for dressing myself in the morning is comfort. If my outfit isn't comfy, it is not going to be a good day. As a matter of fact, it's one of the quickest ways to put me in a bad mood. I'm a firm believer in the idea that comfort is key, and if you're not comfortable in the clothes you're wearing, how are you supposed to rock them in confidence? Bring on the boyfriend jeans, t-shirt dresses, and sneaks please!

#MyVegasStyle (via Vegas.com)

Last month I was approached by Vegas.com to come up with a few outfits that could take you from the pool to the club at the Aria Resort & Casino in, you guessed it, Las Vegas. Vegas has always been on my list of places to visit and while I haven't gotten there yet, you can bet that with my twenties just starting up, I'm ready to pack a suitcase, grab some friends, and go.

My three looks are centered around the pool (the resort has two, including the Liquid Pool & Lounge, exclusively for those 21 and older), one of the many restaurants located at the resort, Sage, as well as Haze Nightclub.

Viva Las Vegas, Baby

I hope you're as excited about these looks as I am! Maybe I'm a bit bias, but I would totally rock all of them-- and not just because I put them together. Vegas calls for a bit more of an edgier look than I'm used to, but doesn't that just make the whole thing more fun?!

America, America

The 4th of July is tomorrow! It's kind of crazy to believe it's already July already, but I'm not complaining. I love the 4th of July, mostly just because of the fireworks and the fact that I get to spend the day hanging out with friends! The fireworks in my town are crazy; they put on the show right on the waterfront every 3rd of July. I've never known why they do it on the 3rd rather than the 4th but I suspect it's because all the towns in my state are relatively close together, and many have their own shows that they do on the fourth. But who knows?

Dressing for the fourth is always such fun! The red, white, and blue color scheme never gets old. Truth be told, I love it year round (who doesn't?), but wearing it in the middle of the winter seems a little extreme. Also, it makes it so much more fun when you get to wear it for special occasions like Memorial Day, Labor Day, and of course, the Fourth of July!

Get the Look: Jessica Alba's Pretty in Pink!

I'm a girly girl at heart, and pink is my color. You should see my room... Really, it's kind of scary. While I'm trying to get my pink fetish under control, you can't blame me for falling in love with this look can you? It's the perfect summery shade of pink, and Jessica Alba killed it with the high-waisted denim. As a girl with short legs and a long torso, high-waisted anything is my friend. Anything to make me look like my legs are longer! (I'm 5'9" and can wear a petite in some pants... Weird, right?)

What to Wear: Stay Warm!

A girl doesn't need to watch the news to know that this winter is a cold one! I live in one of the coldest states in New England so dressing for winter weather has been instilled in my mind since I was a kid. However, I know a lot of you aren't used to these freezing temperatures, so I thought I'd go ahead and do another style post! (Not going to lie though, I've been dealing with them for ten years now and I'm still not used to them...)

The older I get, the more I realize I am a warm weather gal. Spring can come as soon as it wants to as far as I'm concerned, and the second finals are done summer can come around too! When the weather's too nice no school work gets done. And that is the only (I repeat, only...) reason I'm willing to wait until May for some summer weather. My grades depend on it.

It's hard prepping for different situations when the temperatures are so low. Check out these ideas!

Just a Cup of Coffee

So.. I'm that person who really hates to even leave her couch on days the temperature falls below 30. But there are some days you just have to go somewhere and actually make yourself look presentable. I like how simple this look is (perfect for a coffee date!), and better yet, the color of the bag is radiant orchid, the Pantone color of the year! Also lately I've been a sucker for anything leopard print. Plus the coat is a cute way to mix in a winter white!

So Little Time

It happens to the best of us. The same week we have a million and one things to do, we come down with a brutal cold. Between the congestion, coughing, sneezing and what not, who wants to put any kind of effort into how they look? On the days when all you want to do is stay in bed with a cup of tea, tie up your Bean boots (literally a lifesaver in this kind of weather..), throw on a comfy sweater and your puffer jacket, take a shot of DayQuil and hit the road!

 Never Gonna Leave This Bed

Sometimes my favorite days are spent laying in bed or on my couch perusing the internet and reading blogs. Throw an episode or two (or eight) of Gossip Girl in there and I'm as happy as a clam. I'm a firm believer in taking days to just relax and decompress; I have a tendency to be far too good at it as a matter of fact. When you need a day (I call them mental health days...), cozy up in some of these pajamas!

Note: fuzzy blankets are always recommended on mental health days.

Stay warm everyone!
